Welcome to VRYS Cheer

2024 Registration is now CLOSED!

Tradition starts here. Our Ranger cheer program provides a fun and enriching youth cheerleading opportunity for ages 3 to 11 years old in the Vista Ridge High School feeder area of Cedar Park, Texas.  The youth program is modeled after the high school’s cheer program that strives to be “sharper, stronger and higher than the rest.” Our youth cheerleaders have the opportunity to learn the Vista Ridge High School fight song dance, along with the high school cheers and chants.

Fall Cheer Season

The fall sideline cheer season starts August 1st, and can run through early December, depending on football playoff advancement. Our youth cheerleaders enjoy inclusion in Sidekicks, Rally at the Ridge, and the annual Homecoming Parade. Enrollment for Fall cheer opens in March and closes in mid to late July.

Practice – Cheering for Vista Ridge Youth Sports is a commitment of 20 hours of pre-season conditioning, as well as continued weekly practices. Practices will be held up to 5 days a week prior to school starting, then reduce to 1-2 days a week. Cheerleaders work on game endurance, tumbling, stunting, cheers, and routines throughout the season.

Game Day – Games are typically on Saturdays. Our home field is Ranger Stadium, located at Vista Ridge High School. We travel to all Hill Country Pop Warner game locations. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to “away” games for their cheerleaders.

Squads – Squads are formed based on skill level and age as of August 1st in the following divisions:

Jr. Tiny-Mite: ages 3-4

Tiny-Mite: ages 5-7

Mitey-Mite: ages 7-9

Junior Pee Wee: ages 8-11

Coaches – Our coaches are YCADA and CPR certified. We are always looking for coaches to help these amazing children grow in team spirit and teamwork. While prior cheer experience is helpful, it is not necessary to help coach! If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about coaching, please reach out to the cheer director.
